A report has been drafted by Sabrina Renaud and Patrizia Ziveri, copy
not with me at the moment.
Sample set identification
It was felt that common sample sets should be studied as far as
possible. Six main sample types as needed for the project were identified
and different scientists undertook responsibility to synthesise
information available on these and move toward identification of common
sample sets:
- CODENET species cultures (RT1-7)- Ian Probert
- Extended coccolithophorid species set for phylogenetic work
(RT3&8 + ?4&6) - Alberto Garcia Saez with Jeremy Young
- Plankton samples (RT11) - ?
- Sediment trap samples (RT12)- Patrizia Ziveri
- Holocene sediment samples (RT13) - Joerg Bollman, Sabrina Renaud
(sample selection and preparation already 60% complete).
- Geological core samples (RT14) - Joerg Bollman, Sabrina Renaud
(sample selection for phase 1 work completed)
Mid year workshop
It was decided that it was essential that an additional workshop
should be held between the Annual Workshops, to be attended primarily by
the YVRs. Subsequently Hanno Kinkel, Gerard Versteegh and Patrizia Ziveri
undertook to organise this meeting and it was agreed to hold it in NIOZ
in March 1999,
