        Notes on participation
Teams will represented by the scientists in chief and by the CODENET funded young visiting researcher, except as explained below.
1 Joerg Bollman: Until Dec 1999 the ETHZ team included two post docs, Sabrina Renaud (CODENEt funded) and Christine Klaas (Swiss funded) working full time on the CODENET project. They have both gained prestigious appointments and neither of them will be able attend. Jorg Bollman who worked closely with them will briefly outline their experiences.
2 Prof Jan van Hinte & Gerald Ganssen: Prof van Hinte, one of the initiators of the project, has officially retired and so has been replaced as scientist in chief of the VUA team by Gerald Ganssen. He continues, however, to play a key role in the network and will contribute an introductory talk to the meeting.
3 Vollker Huss: Linda Medlin scientist in chief of the AWI team is unable to attend the meeting, Volker Huss of Erlangen will attend on her behalf. He is a core member of the AWI team and the YVR A. Saez worked with him until Nov 1999.
4Gerard Versteegh: Jaap Singninghe Daamste the scientist in chief of the AWI team is unable to attend the meeting. He will berepresented by Dr. Versteegh, who has in fact played a far more active role in the network.
5 Karl-Heinz Baumann: The U. Bremen team, although not part of the original proposal, is making a major contribution to the project (and the contract is being altered to reflect this). Dr. Baumann will describe their contribution.
6 Heather Stoll : University of Oviedo is not an official part of the collaboration but Dr. Stoll has been collaborating intensively and will be present as a representative of the broader contacts of CODENET.
