INASSET 2020 - Cenozoic Nannofossils

Provisonal Programme :: Registration of Interest

We are very sorry but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is no longer possible to plan activities such as this in July. It is possible this may change in the next few months, but for now everything is on hold, so obviously we will not be asking for registration payments. We do intend to run the course when this is possible, and we will inform everyone who has pre-registered once we have revised plans.
With all best wishes, take care.
Giuliana, Emanuela, Jeremy and Matt.

Lyon July 5th – July 11th

Laboratoire de Géologie de Lyon, Université Lyon 1, France

A 5-day programme of lectures and practical classes with a strong taxonomic focus including extensive microscope lab sessions. A grounding in Cenozoic research will be provided through lectures on paleoceanography, nannofossil microscopy, image capture. We will then review the current nannofossil biozonal schemes, discuss their usefulness for biostratigraphical applications, and present case studies examining the geological evolution of these microfossils. A geological excursion on the 6th day will be held in the Beaujolais Hills.

This summer school is primarily intended for research students (Masters or PhD level), and early career-stage industrial biostratigraphers interested in nannofossil micropalaeontology, and its applications in biostratigraphy, and palaeoceanography.
