The Palaeoenvironments and Palaeobiosphere centre represents one of the most important
palaeontological departments in France, with some 40 specialists working in macro- and
micropalaeontology, sedimentology, geochemistry and morphometry applied to palaeontology.
The main topics of the research developed in our laboratory concern :
• evolutionary patterns and mechanisms
• palaeoenvironmental reconstructions and palaeobiogeography
• palaeoceanography
