Paola de Capoa, Angelida Di Staso, Salvatore Giardino:
Preparation techniques and methodological approach to calcareous nannoplankton analysis in turbiditic sediments
(Talk)

Nannoplankton assemblages in turbiditic sediments are affected by strong reworking. Consequently, the preparation techniques and the biostratigraphic study of these assemblages require particular attention.

Samples of various ages were collected from different localities in turbiditic sediments. Each sample has been prepared following different standard and non-standard procedures, and then subjected to the standard counting methods. The results of these different methodological approaches, and their biostratigraphic implications, are discussed in this paper.
